the Oscar and Grammy Award winner and master melodist, Stephen Schwartz. Brundage Park Playhouse is proud to present this musical as part of our
Fairies in Training: Vocal Range G3 – E5
Rosa, Viola & Arancia are sweet and kind. Expressive observers. They sing as a group, often alongside the Blue Fairy. Sue is a fairy in training who marches to the beat of her own drum. She isn’t your typical fairy, as sweetness isn’t in her nature. A contrast to Rosa, Viola and Arancia, although vocally she should blend in.
The Blue Fairy is convinced of her own perfection and does not like having it called into question. Good comedic instincts and a solid singing voice. This role does not require excessive dancing.
Vocal Range G3 – E5
Geppetto is a lonely toymaker who longs to be a father. Strong singer, as Geppetto has several solos. Vocal Range Bb3 – F5 Pinocchio is a wooden puppet who doesn’t know where he belongs. Lively personality of a little boy. Although Pinocchio is a boy, the role can
be played by a boy or girl. Pinocchio has a few solos. Vocal Range G3 – E5
Signora Giovanni – Pinocchio’s teacher. Non-singing role. Stromboli is a bumbling, loud, incompetent puppeteer who has at least a few screws loose. Versatile, Over-the-top. Stromboli’s songs are challenging. Vocal Range Bb3 – F5
Professore Buonragazzo – a nutty inventor obsessed with building perfect children. Vocal Range
Bb3 – C#4 Junior is Professore Buonragazzo’s mirror image assistant. Need to
mimic the performer playing the Professor. A short solo is required.Vocal Range Bb3 – C#4
Animals (Pig, Foxes, Horse) serve as voices of reason for Geppetto’s journey. Non-singing Roles. Comic timing and deadpan delivery are essential.
Parents are the beleaguered mothers and judgmental fathers of the town
children. Some solos and Group singing.
Children of Idyllia are the perfect children created by Professore
Buonragazzo Sing in groups, with featured speaking lines. There are
great opportunities for movement and dance.
Ringleader – The Ringleader runs Pleasure Island. Mischevious, a
showman. Some singing and is a great opportunity to showcase a dancer.
The Ringleader can be played by a boy or a girl. Vocal Range A3 – E5
Roustabouts are the sidekicks to Pleasure Island’s Ringleader. When
performing these roles, personality is key. Group singing is required.
Delinquents (Malvolio, Brutto, Sporco, others) can expand to include
more performers and are great roles for non-singers. Also, they must be
comfortable turning into donkeys.

Jersey. For further information, please call (973) 989-7092.
