Surnames — Has Your Ancestor Gone Missing?

Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 1 p.m.

 

Loretta Perner, a genealogist with 30 years experience, will discuss different methods for finding ancestors who can’t be found because the spelling of their last names has been changed, either because of transcription errors and mistakes in understanding, or because those ancestors changed their last names.

This class will be held in the Library’s Meeting Room and then move to the Computer Room for hands-on practice with the database.

Royal London and the Jubliee

The United Kingdom has been a busy place this past spring and summer! The Olympics ended in August, but before that big series of events, there was the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee! Queen Elizabeth had ascended the throne upon the death of her father on Feb. 6, 1952 and has remained the Queen for more than 60 years!

Come visit Great Britain with Audrey Boise, tour escort, and see the places which have been so important to the Queen and the Royal Family through all of these years, and review some of the important events which happened in London and the country.

The main celebration took place in June, and we’ll also see how everyone honored Her Majesty during that very special occasion.

This seminar will discuss how parents of college-bound high school juniors and seniors can receive $2,500 to $25,000 per year that most don’t even know about.
