The people of the Drakestown United Methodist Church felt that they wanted to contribute to a ministry outside of their comfort zone and outside of the local area. Their pastor, the Rev. Bob Mayer, said they have found just that through participating in the Appalachian Service Project (A.S.P.). This fall marked the third year the church has participated in the project. Churches pay their own way to travel to Appalachia where they are put on work teams which help to make homes safer and more livable in one of the poorest parts of the country. Four people from the Drakestown church went, joined by 10 from the Butzville United Methodist Church.

Most people know that Catholic Schools are infamous for their fundraising activities. Some fundraising involves fun family events and everyone gets to know each other and other events are more individualized. St. Michael School is no exception to this phenomenon and hence we strive forward to help maintain a reasonable effort to help defer the cost of an exceptional Catholic education! Every so often we come across a fundraiser that makes everyone happy, therefore keeping our spirits exhilarated and enthused to continue this deeply seeded aspect of Catholic Schools.
