WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, issued the following statement after the U.S. House passed H.R. 4015, the “SGR Repeal and Medicare Provider Payment Modernization Act,” — legislation to reform the Medicare physician payment system.
“Today’s bipartisan action in the House is another step closer to modernizing our Medicare payment system and bringing much-needed certainty for our senior citizens and physicians,” said Lance, who as a member of the Health Subcommittee met regularly with medical experts and patient groups in New Jersey to solicit input on crafting a solution. “The House-passed proposal is also fully paid for by delaying ObamaCare’s individual mandate, ensuring that this permanent ‘doc-fix’ is done in a fiscally responsible manner. I am proud to support these Medicare reforms and urge members of the U.S. Senate to join the House in support of this effort.”
