Skylands Juried Art Exhibit. We are pleased to announce that the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council will once again host the Annual Skylands Regional Juried Art Exhibit! This exhibit has become a benchmark for quality art shows in the New Jersey Highlands. Both the exhibit and the opening reception are well attended by the public and highly regarded by artists of all levels of experience. This annual fundraiser for the council is sponsored by the New Jersey Herald.
JURIED EXHIBIT: We welcome all artists 18 years or older to submit entries, and all media are accepted. Last year over 70 works of art were selected from over 200 entries by artists in the tri-state area and beyond. The cash prizes totaled $3,000 through generous supporters of the Arts Council. This year’s juror, Buel Ecker is a former gallery director, gallerist, award-winning artist and teacher specializing in the creative process. Deadline for entries is March 20, 2004. For more information and for a prospectus please visit scahc.org/events.
OPENING RECEPTION: The opening champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres will be held on Saturday May 3, from 4-6 pm and is sponsored by Thorlabs and catered by Perona Farms. Entertainment will feature professional flutist Melinda McCoy Miller. The awards ceremony is at 5:30. The reception serves as a major fundraiser for the Council and is open to the public. We invite all members and non-members of the council to come and see how alive the arts are in Sussex County! Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance by Friday
April 25th and $25 at the door. Selected artists will receive a complimentary reception ticket. For tickets, go to http://2014skylandsreception.eventbrite.com or call the Arts
