Updated Jan 8, 2013 7:56 PM ET
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will have surgery on his injured right knee this week, according to reports, possibly to repair more than one torn ligament.
Griffin has a torn LCL, according to ESPN, and doctors will examine the ACL during surgery to determine if there’s damage that needs to be repaired.
Griffin flew to Florida and was examined by Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday, with Redskins owner Dan Snyder present.
The Redskins’ rookie star was injured in Sunday’s wild-card playoff loss to Seattle.
