Girl Scout Troop 95105 in Morristown recently organized and led an event called “Anti-Bullying 101: The
Bullying Stops Here.”
The guest speaker and workshops that the 7th grade cadettes from Frelinghuysen Middle School coordinated aimed to educate people on bullying and provide tools that help those being bullied to cope.
Nearly 80 attendees were able to hear the compelling story of how guest speaker, Julie Bond Genovese, overcame the negative effects of bullying. Genovese is a writer and motivational speaker and was born a dwarf with degenerative arthritis. Her story of how she learned to love herself and her bullies through painful, negative experiences was extremely moving and provided valuable insight for the audience.
