Abilities Appreciates Donation

Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. was presented with a $1,000 donation from DaVita Healthcare Partners Inc. of Hackettstown on Jan. 8. Annually, DaVita’s Way of Giving program recognizes organizations that positively impact their community.

“We have a special place in our heart for this organization,” explained DaVita’s Hackettstown Facility Administrator, Suzanne Sutton. “We recognize and value the good work Abilities performs in the community.” Sutton credits Kent Thiry, CEO of DaVita Healthcare Partners, for instilling a culture that values community enrichment. “Kent’s generosity has trickled down to all aspects of the organization,” said Sutton. DaVita’s Hackettstown location focuses on kidney care.

“We appreciate their generosity and value having partners like DaVita,” said Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Wildermuth. “Like DaVita, Abilities recognizes the importance of collaboration and teamwork in enhancing lives and building stronger communities. This donation and partnership will have a positive impact on our efforts to expand community employment and volunteer opportunities for those we serve.”

Since 1974, Abilities has been providing support services for persons with disabilities residing in Warren, Morris, Sussex and Hunterdon counties.
