Abilities Upgrades Technology Through Investors Foundation Grant

Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. has received $10,000 from Investors Foundation for the purchase of educational technology, including tablets and Smart Tables, for the agency’s MSN (Medical Specialized Needs) and ISP (Individual Specialized Program) populations.

Tablets are useful, particularly with non-verbal individuals, in enabling communication, while Smart Tables facilitate communication, learning and prevocational skills. Use of such devices also improves physical dexterity and creates opportunities for group activities and peer interaction. All Abilities programs are designed to provide individualized support services that promote employability and community access for individuals with disabilities.

“We are excited to share this news with our stakeholders,” said Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Wildermuth. “In 2015, Investors Foundation awarded our team with a grant to support our SustainAbilities green training program. They have become a valued partner in promoting the development of employment, daily living and communication skills for those with disabilities. We appreciate their continued investment in our exceptional services and technology.”
