The Mt. Olive Public Library will feature A Tribute to Alan Freed by Jim Clarke July 24.

The tribute will take place on July 24 at 6:30 p.m.  

Disc jockey Alan Freed, the self-claimed “King of Rock ‘n Roll,” did not invent Rock ‘n Roll, but he changed music, the recording industry and entertainment forever.  Doing so resulted in his abrupt downfall, with the Payola Scandal of 1959.
