Caldwell University is accepting applications for its fifth annual summer percussion camp. Directed by Alex Bocchino, the camp will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon. through Sat., July 11 to 16, on campus.
Food and special events are included in the tuition price of $599. Students will experience multiple facets of percussion such as drum set, hand drumming, keyboard percussion and percussion ensemble with master classes, ensemble rehearsals and technique classes in an intimate setting. They will work with internationally recognized guest artists and clinicians. A concert is set to be held Sat., July 16, for family and friends. There will also be a special trip to New York City to see the Birdland Big Band.
The camp and workshop are open to percussionists 12 and up. No formal audition is required. Lunch and snacks will be provided daily. Early registration is recommended since camp and workshop sizes are limited.
