Book Clubs, Toddler Time & Story Times Information

Children’s Book Club

Mondays: 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm

For Kids Ages 5 – 10 yrs.

This free program is limited to 20 students. Registration is required.

 

Story Time

Tuesdays at 10:15 am

or

Thursdays at 1:00 pm

For Kids ages 3 – 5 yrs.

Story time offers 30 minute sessions with a story and other fun activities. Parents must remain in the Library. This free program is limited to 20 children. Registration is required.

 

Toddler Time

Thursdays at 10:15 am

For Kids ages 2 – 3 yrs.

Toddler time offers a 30 minute session with a story and a small craft for children and caretakers. This free program is limited to 12 children and 12 caretakers. Registration is required.

 

1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN

Come to the Library, see Ms. Arlene or Ms. Lisa and register your child for a program that promotes literacy. Each child will receive a log book for each 100 books. Sign up your child on Mondays, (11-8), Tuesdays (10-3) or Thursdays (10-8) Read how to participate on our website: www.butlerlibrary.org under the Children’s Menu to: 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.

S.T.E.M. Chess Club

Saturdays starting 12/1/18

For Kids in Grades: 3 – 6

Join Ms. Esther and learn how to play Chess. This free program is limited to 14 players.

Registration is required.

 

S.T.E.A.M. Craft: Ceramic Christmas Tree

Saturday, December 8, 2018

11:00 am – 11:45 am

For Kids in Grades: K – 5

Join Ms. Lisa and paint a ceramic tree and decorate it with plastic jewels. Bring a container to carry home your wet project. This free program is limited to 22 students. Registration is required.

 

Mark your calendars for all of the programs you sign up for.

Call us (973-838-3262) if you decide not to attend so we can call other children to join us.

No Shows are truly unfair to those children who are on the waiting list.

Family Movie Night

Butler Public Library will hold a Family Movie Night with family-friendly films, once a month. Come watch the movie on our 70” Flat Screen TV.  Parents must stay with children under age 10.  Call 973-838-3262, to reserve your seat.

New Parent Programs

 

The Baby Box Program

The Baby Box Company is now at Butler Public Library. We are proud to announce that the Butler Public Library is now a Baby Box Distribution Center. Baby Boxes are inspired by the maternity packages given to all expectant mothers in Finland. They double as a baby starter kit and a safe sleep space for infants. They are an initiative that is new to the United States in an effort to equip all expecting families with vital parenting education and resources. The boxes themselves are free to all expectant mothers through the Baby Box University and include new parent essentials such as diapers, breast pads and more.

Log on and watch a 10-15 minute training course for your region, after taking a quiz, you will receive a certificate of completion. Print it out or take a screenshot and
bring the certificate and the email address you used on The Baby Box Company to Butler Public Library and collect your Baby Box. That’s it!
