The Jerry Gibson Memorial Youth Summer Theater will transport guests to a magical kingdom where dreams come true when the group performs Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” The theater company’s 38th production will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 through Saturday, July 28, with an additional matinee performance at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, in the Ridgedale Middle School auditorium at 71 Ridgedale Ave. It is advised to order tickets by calling 973-377-9078 or emailing Gibson@Collaborations.com. The ticket office for each night opens at 6:30pm.
With a soaring score by Rodgers and Hammerstein, exquisite costumes, and elaborate dance scenes, “Cinderella” is poised to enchant lovers of the classic fairy tale. Mary Hupcey, executive producer for the past 38 years, said recently: “We are very excited to be doing Cinderella. Generations have grown up with the ever popular Disney movie, and the Rodgers and Hammerstein stage version with Julie Andrews.”
Director and Producer Alessandra Le Pera is a Florham Park resident and Drew University student. She is joined on the production team by esteemed Music Director Stan Dunn, and Choreographer Aileen Bergin of Madison, who is headed to Muhlenberg College in the fall. Rounding out the production team are Assistant Music Director Katie Gordon, a New York University student from Florham Park, Stage Manager Christina Cannilla of Morristown, who will be a freshman at Salve Regina University, Assistant Stage Manager Victoria LePera, a rising sophomore at Morris Catholic High School, and Mary and Joseph Hupcey, who have been with the company since it’s development in 1981.
