This Way to the Egress plans to perform at 6 p.m. at Shippen Manor on Sun., July 3. Egress features Tyrant Taylor front man and accordion, Sarah Shown on keys, violin and vocals, Toobie Doo on Tuba, Joe Bone Lynch on Trombone, Jaclyn the Kidd on guitar and banjo, and Greg on drums.
Based in Bethlehem, PA., Egress presents sounds of vaudeville and swing combined with 1920s cabaret that is reminiscent of Jacques Brel and Tom Waits. They are a refreshing unique and eclectic fusion of Swamp Punk, Dark Cabaret, Day of the Dead, and Klezmer.
Critics have been united in their praise for Egress: “Great tunes for a road trip.” – Bonnie and Clyde, “I knew who they were before they got big.”- Nostradamus. Better yet, Egress is a taste of what many of the hip younger generation are listening to.
