Savor those Sundays by shopping and browsing at Morristown’s
Farmer’s Market.
Each Sunday, since June 17, through November 18, individuals can
enjoy this vibrant and anticipated summer delight that has been going strong for 27 consecutive seasons.
The Morristown Farmer’s Market is located in the heart of downtown
Morristown, in the MPA Parking Lot on Spring and Morris Streets and off Dumont Place, right behind Dunkin Donuts/Morristown Diner. It takes place from 8:30 am to 2 p.m.
Farmer’s Markets in general are a much looked forward to summer
activity. They are a quaint place to find treasures. In a place known as
the Garden State especially, folks can’t seem to get enough of the
wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables and vibrant healthy foods that
tempt tastebuds and scream summertime.
The Morristown Farmer’s Market is no exception.
The Farmer’s Market is extremely popular, with more than 1,000
visitors each weekend. New faces, as well as familiar ones, are ready
to enjoy. This includes Jennifer Wehring, executive director of
Morristown Partnership, operating the farmer’s market management.
According to Wehring, this event also offers the opportunity to support local Jersey businesses.
“The Morristown Farmer’s Market prides itself on being a Jersey fresh market, supporting New Jersey based farms and local vendors,” she asserts.
Approximately 15 farms and specialty vendors offer local grown or
raised products. In addition to mouthwatering produce, there’s a little
bit of everything for every palate and taste: vegetables, flowers,
cheese, herbs, eggs, fish, meat, fruits, breads, poultry and specialties.
No matter what folks are shopping for, there’s something for everyone!
When asked what her favorite thing about the market is, Wehring is
quick to answer. “I love the first day back for the season,” she shares.

“The vendors and farmers are so excited to greet you again. Customers are glad to be back.”
Some of these vendors and farmers include Ester’s Treats, Pickle-
Licious, Alstede Farms, Jeff’s Organic Produce, Glenmalure Farm, Valley Sheppard Creamery, Grossman Farm, Michisk Farm, Griggstown Farm, Shore Catch, Union Hill Farm, Baker’s Bounty, Stefan and Sons Meat Store, and Seasons Oil and Vinegar Taproom.
And according to Wehring, these vendors have been with the
Morristown Farmer’s Market for a long time.
The Morristown Farmer’s Market also boasts of special events each
month, featuring event sponsors, local businesses, live music and more!
“Each week we offer corn toss, checkers, connect four, jump ropes and coloring for all. We love to have events, music and games for both
children and adults,” Wehring enthuses.
Music is scheduled throughout the season and for those who enjoy
yoga, the Be Well Yoga Class is slated to be held on July 22, August 5,
and August 19 at 11 a.m.
When asked if there was any moment that sticks out in her mind in
particular regarding this wonderful staple of summer, Wehring can’t
point to anything specific. “At the Farmer’s Market each day is special,” she asserts.
