On Wednesday, November 13, 2019 the Wayne Public Library’s Lunchbox Learning program will feature “The Wildcats”. Doors open at 12:00 p.m. for light refreshments. The program runs from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. This program is free and open to the public. This is a family friendly program. The Wayne Public Library is a barrier free building.
The Wildcats are a group of seniors who met in Bergen Community College’s (Paramus) Institute for Learning in Retirement. They bonded over their love of doo-wop, and perform across Bergen, Passaic and Rockland Counties in New Jersey and New York.
The group broke off from a larger chorus, “Sing Sing Sing”, directed by Barbara Heitmann of Oakland, NJ. Ms. Heitman is still their musical director, but this group specializes in “Doo Wop” from the 50’s and 60’s. The Wildcats perform at Malls, Senior Centers, Retirement Communities, Libraries, Community Centers and many Clubs and Organizations.
This program is sponsored by The Wayne Public Library and the Friends of the Wayne Public Library.
