The Knights of Columbus Council 5410 in Flanders will hold a shredding event Oct. 20 in its council hall.
It will be a safe and secure method of destroying confidential documents and proper electronic recycling while helping a local charitable organization. The event will take place form 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Papers and documents should be brought in either paper bags or cardboard boxes. Shredding is limited to confidential and sensitive materials only. Please recycle all other paper. No binders or magazines will be accepted. Electronics will be accepted loose only — no boxes needed. A shredding donation of $5 per bag (brown grocery bag size) or $10 per box (copy paper box size). For every five boxes shredded, one will be free.
Electronic Donations are $10 for each tower or laptop. Hard drives must be removed from tower or laptop. Hard drives can be destroyed for $420 each and cell phones for $10 each. CRT and flat screen monitors are $45 each. For more information, call 973-584-2960.
