Visiting the doctor and dentist regularly is crucial to maintaining good health.
Going to the eye doctor is just as important! According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), eye diseases are common, but can go unnoticed for a long period of time. A comprehensive eye exam is essential to detect eye diseases in the early stages when treatment to prevent vision loss or blindness is most effective.
According to the Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, “National researches say that 50% of all case of blindness or severe vision loss could have been prevented by early detection of disorders and the appropriate follow-up care.” This eye screening does not replace an eye doctor’s exam, but it can help identify people who are at greater risk for eye disease.
The Pompton Lakes Health Department and Wayne Lion’s Club encourages you to register for this free screening to reveal any potential vision problems and to learn more about maintaining good eye health!
