Free Walking Club Planned For This Fall

The Livingston Health Department will be offering a free walking club starting in September around the reservoir at the South Mountain Recreation Complex located in West Orange. Walking is a great way to get some exercise and offers many health benefits such as helping one to maintain a healthy weight, reducing joint pain,
inproving balance, reducing the risk of high blood pressure, and more.
The walking club will be on Fridays starting on Sept. 14 until Nov. 16, from 10 a.m.-11a.m. weather permitting. Please note there will be no walk on Oct. 19 and Nov. 2. The walking club is free to participate and is open to adults over the age of 18. Walkers will meet in the parking lot at Mcloone’s Boathouse which is a free public parking lot and will walk 1.75 miles around the reservoir which should take about one hour. Pre-registration is required. For questions or to pre-register, contact Jessica, health educator at 973-535-7961 ext. 227 or Jekelly@livingstonnj.org.
