The Livingston Health Department would like to take this opportunity to announce that April is Public Health Awareness Month. In celebration of Public Health Month, the Nursing Division of the Livingston Health Department and Saint Barnabas Medical Center will be sponsoring a Spring Health Fair on Wed., April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Senior & Community Center, Livingston. Free screenings for Bone Density, Hepatitis B screening, blood pressure and podiatry assessment will be offered.
A Stroke Screening Assessment on March 22 is planned at the Livingston Police Department with Saint Barnabas. Anyone interested in this stroke screening needs to register by calling1-888-724-7123.
The Livingston Health Department serves the community in many different aspects, from birth and death certificates, marriage licenses, licensing and monitoring establishments within the township as part of the New Jersey States Sanitary Code. The Nursing Division conducts investigations and surveillance of communicable diseases as per New Jersey State Health Code and school immunization audits.
It provides education; free health screenings, vaccines and Health Fairs open to all Livingston residents and are active members of the town’s EMO (Emergency Management office).
