Together with residents, local officials and guests, Heath Alliance for Care, the parent company of Heath Village Retirement Community, held a groundbreaking ceremony on Aug. 3 for its new 97,000 square foot Health Care Center and Rehabilitation Facility (HCC) at Heath Village West.
Consistent with current best practices, the HCC will be built along a household model. Units will be arranged into small “neighborhoods” of 18 residents, allowing for more personalized routines and greater flexibility with residents’ schedules. A place that feels like home for both our short and long-term patients, the new HCC will do away with the old institutional feel of a hospital.
The rehabilitation facility will include the latest technology in physical, occupational and speech therapies.
“Not only will this health care center provide our residents and seniors living throughout northwest New Jersey with access to state-of-the-art, cutting edge skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services, it will do so with a patient centered focus the likes of which have never been seen before,” said Heath Alliance for Care Board President Dr. Harold S. Lappin.
“This is a great day for Heath Village and for older adults across the region,” said Executive Director Patrick Brady who, during the course of 30-year tenure, has spearheaded and overseen many changes at Heath Village. “Providing our residents and older adults with access to quality health care delivered with compassion and dedication is an intrinsic part of our mission.
“We look forward to continuing to serve the senior community for many years to come.”
