Dan Kilroy and Anthony Rua, graduates of Wayne Hills High School are both members of The College of New Jersey (Ewing) wrestling program this season. Kilroy (junior, 174-pound weight class) had a 14-1 overall record in competitions through January 10. He is listed as a Health and Exercise Science major.
Rua (sophomore, 141-pound weight class) had an overall record of 11-7 in matches through January 10. He is listed as a Health and Exercise Science major as well. The Lions had a dual meet record of 4-1 after five matches.
Eric Johnson-Alford (Passaic County Tech) is on the roster as a junior forward for the Caldwell University men’s basketball team this year. Johnson-Alford, listed as a Computer Science major competed in four games for Caldwell through January 11 and had 23 rebounds and average 9.3 points per game during that span. After 15 regular season games, the Cougars had an overall record of 7-8 and they were 4-2 on their home court. In the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) they had a mark of 3-3.
Cameron Buffy (Passaic County Tech) is on the roster as a competitor in the 141-pound weight class for the Centenary University (Hackettstown) wrestling team this season. Buffy, listed as a Criminal Justice major had four victories through January 4. The Cyclones had one dual meet victory through January 4.
Tyler Czubachowski (Pequannock High School) is on the roster as a junior who competes in freestyle and backstroke events for the Ramapo College (Mahwah) men’s swimming program this winter. Czubachowski, listed as a Finance major placed second in the 200 backstroke for Ramapo in a 156-101 victory over New Paltz in December. The Roadrunners are slated to take part in the Metropolitan Conference Championships from February 22 through February 24 in New Brunswick, NJ.
Juan Melendez (Passaic County Tech) is a sophomore on the roster of the Fairleigh Dickinson University men’s swimming program this year. Melendez was part of the FDU freestyle relay team that placed second in a 113-80 triumph over Western Connecticut held in Danbury, Connecticut on January 5. The Devils are slated to participate in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships from February 14 through February 17 in York, Pennsylvania.
Tyler Stevens and Jonathan Vela, both graduates of Passaic County Tech and William Pike (Wayne Valley High School) are all members of the William Paterson University (Wayne) men’s swimming and diving team this season. Stevens, a senior competitor in freestyle and breaststroke events is listed as a Computer Science major. Vela, a sophomore who competes in butterfly and individual medley events won the 100 butterfly in a victory over Brooklyn in December. He is listed as a Computer Information Technology major. Pike is a freshmen participant in freestyle and butterfly events. Through eight meets, the Pioneers had an overall record of 5-3 and they were 3-1 at home.
