though Jefferson School preschoolers, Bennett and Nathan’s dad, James Rueter is 5,837 miles away stationed in Jordan he remains a member of the school community.
Preschool Teacher Patti Klein explained, “It all started when the preschool wanted to find a way to assist James Rueter. The class decided to donate things like peanut butter, soup, band-aids, cookies, and many other items the soldiers missed. The support from the class was so overwhelming the Army shipped items to the Unit for free!”
Adding, “Once Principal Melissa Cosgrove found out about this, the drive became a school-wide event and donations poured in from all the students!”
Jefferson Elementary is such a caring community. Corporal Rueter’s wife stated, “I am amazed by the generosity and support from the school community and so thankful and appreciative for all the donations from the Jefferson students and families.”
