An original mission of Lionism was eyesight conservation. Today, Lions worldwide commit enormous effort to eradicate eye related diseases in a continuing commitment to improve life for millions.
The Chester Lions Club contributes to these efforts, helping to ensure the community is protected against the loss or reduction of eyesight and hearing. On Sept. 24, the Chester Lions Club and the N.J. Lions Eye and Ear Foundation held free vision and hearing screenings at the Michael J. Vitale Annual Health Fair in Kenilworth, where approximately 20 residents were screened.
The Chester Lions Club, in conjunction with the Linden Lions Club, is sponsoring another free eye and ear screening on Sun., Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Reformed Church of Linden, in Linden. Trained vision and hearing technicians will be on hand to screen participants. Please take advantage of this free service, all are welcome and registration is not required.
