Pucci Performing Arts Centre of Livingston, NJ offers  Theater Summer Camp Enrichment Program

Essex County kids, students, and youth have a creative outlet for exploration, improvisation, and imagination at Pucci Performing Arts Centre(PPAC).

After working hard all school year on academics and sports, summer is a great time for kids to recharge, explore and enjoy through creative outlets like PPAC.

Many Livingston, West Orange, Caldwell, and Short Hills students have grown up to love dance, theater, and the performing arts after being inspired by PPAC founder and artistic director Kathy Pucci. Her enthusiasm and passion for her craft helps further inspire young people. Kathy’s background extends not only into the professional dance & theater arenas, but also the special event and entertainment production field. These specialized art forms motivated her to develop and offer the Summer OnStage Theater Camp which is in its 6th year.

In 2013, Summer OnStage Theater Camp’s inaugural year, students developed their theater skills while exploring acting, dancing, singing, and show production. Dance and theater instruction is known to build character with perseverance, focus, collaboration and non-verbal communication skills. “The most passionate performers are those who are exposed to a variety of techniques,” Kathy Pucci states, “Our programs are specifically designed to add to that spark of creativity and stir it into a major flame.”

This year’s distinguished faculty, which reads like a Broadway Playbill, will focus on acting, improv, voice projection, stage combat, comedy, set, prop and costume design, and various genres of dance. Campers have the opportunity to write scenes, choreograph, and create their own characters. Each week the kids perform a show of their own creation that is open to friends and family.

In case a vibrant, Broadway-style learning environment is not enough, or doesn’t fit into your active camper summer schedule, evening dance classes (Ballet, Tap, Jazz) are offered as well.
