On Oct. 9, at 3 p.m., join in to hear from Marta McDowell, renowned garden expert & author, when she discusses her newest best-seller, “All the Presidents’ Gardens.” McDowell’s newest book tells the untold history of the White House grounds. Says McDowell, “Starting with the seed-collecting, plant-obsessed George Washington and ending with Michelle Obama’s focus on edibles, this rich and compelling narrative reveals how the story of the garden is also the story of America.” The event will take place at the Fosterfields Living Historical Farm Visitor Center in Morristown.
McDowell will sign books brought by guests. She teaches landscape history and horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden. A popular lecturer on topics ranging from design history to plant combinations, she has been a featured speaker at locations ranging from Wave Hill to the Garden Club of Philadelphia to the Beatrix Potter Society’s Linder Lecture at the Sloane Club in London.
