On Sunday, February 25, Morris Township Police Sgt. Kyle Laauwe and Ptl. Saul Gutierrez helped deliver a baby girl when mom went into labor at her home on Tikvah Way, Morris Township. The baby girl was officially born at 12:22 a.m. At this time, mom and dad were still deciding on a name for their beautiful baby girl.
Sgt. Laauwe is a trained Emergency Medical Technician and a former member of the Department’s Emergency Services Unit. Ptl. Gutierrez is new to the department, however has been involved in several emergency calls since his hire in July, 2018.
“I am continuously impressed by the actions of my officer’s every day. I thank them for their commitment and dedication to the community.” Chief Mark DiCarlo said.
Morris Township officers were assisted by the Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad and the Atlantic Health MICU.
