At Acorn Hall, trees are trimmed and the dining room table is set with sparkling crystal – it’s that time of year again! Morris County Historical Society has, once again, elegantly decorated Acorn Hall with all the festivities of the season and they’re ready and waiting for holiday revelers.
This year the festive decorations mingle with nearly 70 mounted garments featured as part of “Iconic Culture: From Little Black Dress to Bell Bottoms.” The largest textile exhibition ever, garments represent fine holdings, 1920-1979, complemented with winter coats from the collection.
While Iconic Culture will be on display until the spring, Acorn Hall’s annual Christmas Celebration will only be on view Dec. 1, Holly Day, through Jan. 6, 2019.
Acorn Hall visitors also are invited to stop by the Gallery Gift Shop to find perfect presents for everyone on their gift list. MCHS recently added acorn- and oak- themed jewelry, made in New Jersey by Otis B.
Jewelry, to its selections. Bangle bracelets and necklaces are available in gold and silver, making them the perfect accessory for any outfit.
Handmade stained-glass stars, fused glass stars, snowflakes and Christmas trees from Laura of Garden State Glassworks add sparkle to any room and are perfect for trees or windows. Seasons Olive Oil and Vinegar Taproom in Morristown has created special gift packages just in time for preparing holiday meals. The packages include Seasons’ Tuscan Herb Olive Oil and 18-year-old Balsamic Vinegar.
Holiday-themed repurposed barn wood signs made by Kozs Korner Vintage signs are ideal for adding a sense of history to seasonal décor.
