Mount Olive Chamber Names Scholarship Recipients

The Mt. Olive Area Chamber of Commerce has announced this year’s winners of their scholarship awards, including two high school students and two current college students.

Julianna Kim, of Mt. Olive High School, and Edward O’Melia, of Hackettstown High School, each received a scholarship worth $750.

Kim will be attending Syracuse University in the fall majoring in business management. O’Melia is going to Rowan University and intends to have a double major, in mechanical engineering and business.

This year the chamber added a new scholarship category, open to family members  of chamber members  currently in college.

Katherine Schaffer, daughter of Patrice Schaffer, and Holly Reidinger, daughter of Kathy Reidinger, each received a $500 scholarship award.

Schaffer earned an associate’s degree in Chemistry from County College of Morris, and is going on to East Stroudsburg University in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.

Reidinger will be in her second year at St. Joseph’s University this fall, with a major in business.

The college scholarship recipients were recognized at the chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, June 7, while the two high school recipients were recognized at their respective high school award events.
