Registration is now open for several June computer classes at the Linda & Rudy Slucker NCJW/Essex Center for Women. Intro to WORD is scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning June 3rd from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and will run for six sessions. Intermediate WORD is scheduled to run on four consecutive Tues. beginning June 4th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Outlook is scheduled for three consecutive Thurs. June 6, 13, and 20 from 9:30
a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Classes are open to all women regardless of their religious affiliation or ethnic background who need to improve their skills for job positions or for women who would just like to learn for their own personal use. All programs are six sessions unless otherwise stated and held at the NCJW/Essex Center for Women 70 South Orange Avenue, Suite 120, Livingston. There is an $85 fee for each course, and registration is required.

The Center for Women also offers low-cost career services for women who would like to enter or re-enter the workforce. Additional free services are available for displaced homemakers.  A displaced homemaker is defined as a
woman who has lost her primary source of income due to divorce, separation, or the death/disability of a spouse.  The Career Services Program offers one-on-one job counseling, as well as seminars in career choices, resume writing, job search strategies, and interview techniques. The National Council of Jewish Women, Essex County Section, and the State of NJ Department of Children and Families Division on Women fund the Displaced Homemaker Program at the Center for Women.
