March 10, 2019 marked a historic day in New Jersey Wrestling and Pequannock Township wrestling. This was the first time ever in the State of New Jersey that 3 brothers all won NJ State Wrestling Titles together on the same day.
Vincent Anello – NJ State Champion 60 lbs. Jack Anello – NJ State Champion 50 lbs. Michael Anello – NJ State Champion 41 lbs.
While doing so, the Anello Brothers also known as the A Team, achieved wrestling’s ultimate goal finishing with a perfect 19-0 combined record. Over the 19 matches they competed in (which included the NJ State Qualifiers and NJ State Championships), they did not allow a single point scored on them. Not only did the brothers make history in NJ Wrestling, they also made Pequannock Township history by all becoming our first and only 2X NJ State Champions to date. Over the past four seasons, the A Team has captured a combined 6 New jersey State Wrestling Titles representing Pequannock with class and excellent sportsmanship. The 3 brothers are coached by their father, Vince Anello Jr., co-owner of Freedom Fence in Pompton Plains, NJ. Congratulations to Vincent, Jack and Michael on all your outstanding success. Keep making Pequannock Township proud!
