Plans For Annual Lung Cancer Walk Set For Motion At Horseshoe Lake

Help double lung cancer survival during the seventh annual Free to Breath Cancer Walk 10 a.m. Oct. 2 at Horseshoe Lake Park.

By participating in the Free to Breath fundraiser, help raise awareness and fund vital research programs dedicated to doubling lung cancer survival by 2022. Form a Free to Breathe team and ask friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers to join in.

The event schedule is as follows: 9 a.m., registration and check-in; 10 a.m., welcome and rally; 10:25 a.m., Kids’ Dash; 10:30 a.m., walk; and noon p.m., closing rally.

Registration online is $25 and closes Sept. 28; mail-in registration is $28 and must be received by Sept. 26; and registration on event day is $30.  Youth ages 12 and under can register for $15 online; $18 by mail; and $20 on event day.

Registration includes: entry into the one or two-mile walk; 2016 Free to Breathe event t-shirt; and refreshments and entertainment. All online and mail-in registrants who participate are guaranteed an event t-shirt. A limited quantity of t-shirts in limited sizes will be available for those registering on event day.

Registration fee counts toward fundraising efforts and is the first step to a Hero Cape. Raise $100 and earn a Fundraising Hero Cape to wear on event day.

The top three individual fundraisers and top three fundraising teams (based on totals as of 3 p.m. on Sept. 30) will also be acknowledged on event day. Fundraising will remain open through Nov. 1.
