The 34th Annual Verona Labor Day Classic is set for Mon., Sept. 5.

The One Mile Fun Run/Health Walk will begin at 9 a.m.; the 5K Run at 9:30 a.m.

This is one of the best 5K races held in northern New Jersey on a fast USATF certified course through the streets of Verona with the start on Lakeside Avenue and a scenic finish in Verona Park.

There is also a 1 mile fun run and health walk around Verona Park. The 5K is a USATF-NJ grand prix event with awards and Fleet Feet gift certificates to the top three male and female Verona residents and the top three male/female finishers in five year age groups-10 & under, 11-14, 15-19 and every five years from 20 to 85 and older.

Running shoes will be presented by Fleet Feet Sports to the first overall male or female with Vince Carnevale Memorial Trophy. Awards can be picked up from an awards table in Verona Park near the finish line.

Electronic timing will be provided by CompuScore for the 5K using Chronotrack disposable B-tags. Results available on day of race at www.compuscore.com. Race day photographs available at www.sport-memories.com. Refreshments available after the race at the finish area.

Online registration closes at midnight on Wed,, Aug 31. No extra fees for online registration.
