Rocco’s Bar & Grill Hosts Chamber’s Bartender Showdown

The Madison Chamber of Commerce partnered with Rocco’s Bar & Grill, Thurs., Feb. 4, for their Annual Bartender Showdown fundraiser, which benefits the Chamber’s Jack Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Madison business owners Dr. Allison Adams of Adams Dental; Mike Odell, CPA of accounting firm Odell & Critchley; Salvatore Minardi of Salvatore Minardi Salon; and Robbin Salmeri of Cleaners Advantage, a delivery dry cleaning service, served up a fun evening from behind the bar earning tips to go toward the fund.

“We are very grateful to Gino Iossa, owner of Rocco’s Bar & Grill, for hosting this event,” said Karen Giambra, executive director of the Madison Chamber of Commerce.  “The success of the event was due to the hard work of our Chamber bartenders and all those who attended and contributed.”

This is the third Bartender Showdown event held at Rocco’s.

“Gino made an extremely generous personal donation to the scholarship fund at this year’s event and we thank him for his support,” Giambra said.  “Gino and his father Rocco are longtime supporters of the chamber and we appreciate their continued loyalty.”

The scholarship is named in memory of Jack Morris of Stewart-Morris Awards, Gifts & Flags as a tribute to his commitment to the Chamber and to the Madison community.  Morris was a 1948 graduate of Madison High School.

The scholarship was designed for graduating students who plan to continue their higher education in the field of commerce.  The application process includes personal achievement, letters of reference and academic performance. Applications will be available at the MHS guidance office at a later date.

Scholarship winners will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner which will held on June 6 this year.
