Dan Taurkel, regional director of the Peace Corps., addressed the Rotary Club of Caldwell on Sept. 18, explaining the workings of the Corps. and his job as a recruiter.
He informed the club that the Peace Corps. is often considered life-defining by the more than 220,000 Americans who have served. Peace Corps. volunteers come from all kinds of backgrounds, reflecting the rich diversity of the United States — some are just out of college, while others are mid-career or retired.
