Roxbury High School’s mixed choir, Classic Sounds Honors, was selected to perform at the 2019 National Association for Music Education Eastern Division Conference.
They were chosen from more than 170 different ensembles from across the Northeast. Performance groups are picked based on audition recordings submitted to a selection committee. The students will be performing on Friday, April 5 in Pittsburgh.
Classic Sounds Honors will serve as a model of high school mixed choirs for music educators from Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, D.C.
The mission of the National Association for Music Education is the advancement of music instruction in educational institutions at all levels that provide in-service and enrichment opportunities for practicing and retired teachers and prospective music educators, as well as sponsoring various festivals and performing groups for K-12 students.
