Roxbury Township Public Schools begins its new school year planning to “prepare the children of today for tomorrow” with the beginning of its strategic planning process.
The Roxbury Board of Education will spend the next few months with more than a dozen parents, students, educators, community leaders, entrepreneurs, township officials, local nonprofits, and other Roxbury representatives as part of the strategic planning process. The developed strategic plan should reflect the partnership between the community and the school district and community participation is imperative to make this process a success.
Community members and organizations are invited to attend the Strategic Planning meetings on Monday, October 14th at the Board of Education meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Lincoln/Roosevelt School (34 North Hillside Avenue, Succasunna)
Please help us better prepare for this event by RSVPing via our online survey at www.roxbury.org/StratPlanRSVP.
“The strategic plan will guide our work over the next several years, providing us with a roadmap to foster student achievement, meet the needs of the 21st century and take classroom learning to another level,” shared Loretta Radulic, Superintendent of Schools. “We invite the public to actively participate in this process as we develop a shared vision and action for our district’s future.”
During the strategic planning process, participants will examine the current position of Roxbury Township Public Schools—the strengths of the district, the challenges we face, and ways in which we can tackle those challenges along with determining a set of goals and steps to take our schools to the next level of achievement over the next three years.
Roxbury Schools actually began its Strategic Planning process last year with its Portrait of a Graduate. Roxbury’s unique Portrait of a Graduate articulates our aspirations for our students. Developed by parents, students, teachers, administrators, and Board members, Roxbury’s Portrait of a Graduate serves a collective vision that will help us provide strategic vision for the redesign of the overall educational experience for students so that we can ensure all Roxbury graduates embody those essential skills:
- Thinkers and enquirers
- Life readiness
- Adaptability and resilience
- Leadership
- Emotional intelligence
- Active citizenship.
Make sure your voice is part of the process!
