The Sunshine Striders One-Mile Fun Run for kids is set for Sat., Oct, 1, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.. The race starts at 3:30 p.m. Rain date is Sun., Oct. 2.

Events will include Fun Run, bounce houses, DJ and face painting
The purpose of the event is to raise money for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center via the charity Cycle for Survival (www.cycleforsurvival.org) .

“I am a rare cancer survivor, and the fun run is a way for my children to support the cause,” says organizer Kelly Leach.
