On Sept. 26, Mt. Olive Senior Citizens and the Mt. Olive Police Department squared off at its annual Bocci Challenge Tournament. Before the match the groups shared coffee, donuts and bagels, supposedly to gain energy for the match.
There were many rounds that happened on the two bocci courts. In one round the seniors were shut out 11 to 0. Most of the rounds were hard fought, especially the last round. Entering the last set the score was tied 10 all. And the final score was 11-10 in favor of the seniors.
After the exciting morning of bocci, the teams shared lunch provided by the police and dessert provided by the seniors.
