Chatham High School senior Alexandra Perrin has been awarded a Certificate of Merit as the local honoree from Chatham High School for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. Perrin was nominated for this award due to her volunteer work for the Morristown Emergency Squad where she has been a certified EMT since Aug. 2014. In addition to being an EMT, Perrin has volunteered at Overlook Hospital, has served as vice president of the Chatham Cares Club, and is part of the CHS mentoring program, Heroes and Cool Kids.
This award was established in 1995 by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), and is America’s largest youth recognition program based solely on volunteer service. This award is meant to recognize a student who has made meaningful contributions to their community through exemplary volunteer service.
Perrin’s counselor Joe Barbato said, “I’m delighted that Alexandra is being recognized for the valuable and meaningful contributions she has made to both her school and local community.”
