Shop And Dine Thursday Evenings In Madison

For those who love Madison, shopping and dining locally, come downtown on Thursday evenings. Madison’s stores and restaurants invite residents, students and visitors to enjoy strolling around historic downtown Madison every day but especially on Thursday as the weekend begins.

On Thursday evenings, many Madison businesses are offering later hours during and after the Madison Farmers’ Market, which is open until 7 p.m. The farmers’ market is located in the heart of town at Central Avenue from Main Street to Cook Avenue. The market’s 2016 season concludes on Oct. 13.

“Our Late Night Thursday’s program was designed to entice old and new customers to the business district so they can take advantage of our wonderful stores and restaurants,” said John Morris, Madison Chamber president and owner of Stewart-Morris Awards, Gifts & Flags. “We want to accommodate those who work full time or those who would just like another opportunity to enjoy Madison”.

“I remember a time years ago when Thursdays were the late shopping night,” said Karen Giambra, the chamber’s executive director.  “We want to bring back a tradition from the past and once again offer the same shopping experience to our customers.

“We are Madison because we have a large selection of diverse businesses and many of them support staying open later for an evening to accommodate their clients and customers,” said Giambra.  “These businesses are eager to earn customers’ trust and loyalty through friendly and attentive service and they truly believe, “If you Love Madison, Shop Madison.”
