Historic Rutherfurd Hall has been busy with lectures, public programs, concerts, social events, and meetings throughout the year. This coming summer is no exception! We are continuing many of our popular events and adding some new ones as well.
On Sun., June 5, rain or shine, come experience “Dads Rock Rutherfurd Hall.” Four groups comprised of dads of children from the local area school districts will perform with their bands. The show starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are being sold through www.rutherfurdhall.org for $25 per carload or $30 per van or SUV. Coolers are welcome but please also support the food vendors who will be on premises selling food and snacks.
Children and adults alike have been enjoying Rutherfurd Hall’s popular paint nights in the mansion since last fall. On June 7, the artists can display a painting of their choice at the Art Show. Something different for the summer will be Paint Nights on The Lawn. A Kid’s Paint Night is set for July 13 and the Adult Wine and Paint Night will be on July 14.
Rutherfurd Hall hosts a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display and entertainment for the community and the surrounding towns. This year’s celebration will take place on July 2 with a rain date of July 3. The grounds are open at 5 p.m. and there is no fee to enjoy the festivities. Premium parking passes will go on sale soon, or free busses will provide transport from select locations. Music will be provided by Uncle Shoehorn. Face Painting and games will also entertain children of all ages. Coolers are welcome and food vendors will also be onsite.
Registration is open for summer Camps at Rutherfurd Hall. The historic Tudor Mansion will be transformed into Hogwarts Castle and become the setting for two different sessions of Harry Potter Themed Camps. New this year is “Camp Half-Blood: A Percy Jackson Themed Camp,” full of adventure and activities inspired by Greek Mythology. “Classic Sports and Games Camp” rounds out the exciting choices for children ages nine to 13. Two sessions of “Papier-Mache’ Art Camp” will be offered to children five and older. These exciting experiences will be filled with enough magical memories to last a lifetime.
On Sept. 11, look for a Rutherfurd Hall Luau Fundraiser with authentic Hawaiian food and entertainment. Details will follow soon.
