Roxbury is seeking volunteers for up to to three hours to do yard work at the homes of Roxbury senior citizens, work at a food drive at two Roxbury locations, and perform clean-ups at several Roxbury parks. An NFL Instructional Flag Football event for children ages 5 through 8 will be held Sept. 10 and Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. on the Roxbury High School turf field. The $50 fee includes an NFL jersey. Coaches are needed, too.

The Roxbury Food Pantry is currently in need of the following items: paper towels, tissues, napkins, toilet paper, dish detergent, and laundry detergent. Roxbury Social Services will be open on Aug. 25 and Sept. 22 to accept donations from 9 a.m. to noon.
On Aug. 28, the Roxbury Public Library will hold a Messy Game Night at 6 p.m., featuring really sloppy outdoor games and activities. Participants should wear old clothes and bring a towel and some friends … and be prepared to get really messy! The event is for those in eighth to twelfth grade.
