U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Conducts Boating Safety Course

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 15 – 10 on Lake Hopatcong, will be conducting a course titled “About Boating Safely” on Mon. August 1 and Tues. August 2 from 6 p.m.  – 10 p.m. Taught by USCG certified instructors licensed by the state of NJ, the course covers all the subjects needed to satisfy the requirements for the mandatory NJ Boating Safety Certificate, which is required by all powerboat operators in NJ.  The class is sponsored by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and plans to take place at Courtyard Marriott located at 15 Howard Blvd. in Mt. Arlington NJ. The fee for the course is $65.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed volunteer Component of the United States Coast Guard created by an Act of Congress in 1939. The Auxiliary, America’s Volunteer Guardians, supports the Coast Guard in nearly all of the service’s missions.
