Washington Township Lieutenant Michael Hade has graduated from the Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MALEEDS), one of the nation’s premier leadership development programs for law enforcement executives.

The 2026 MALEEDS program included 73 law enforcement professionals from agencies throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Since 1993, the annual seminar has been held at Princeton University, providing advanced leadership training for police chiefs and executive-level law enforcement officers.

Designed to prepare current and future law enforcement leaders, MALEEDS combines executive-level instruction with networking opportunities that foster collaboration among agencies across the region. Participation is by invitation only through a highly competitive application process, with class sizes intentionally kept small to encourage meaningful interaction between instructors and attendees.

“While we pride ourselves on our high-level educational program, the MALEEDS Executive Board also provides nightly networking opportunities to continue the learning experience outside of the classroom and encourages our attendees to foster relationships that will allow them to better themselves and their agencies,” said MALEEDS President Chuck Dayall Jr.

MALEEDS is one of more than 20 regional command colleges in the United States and is co-sponsored by the Newark, New York and Philadelphia divisions of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The program is led by active and retired law enforcement executives from agencies and organizations throughout the region, including Princeton University, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and several municipal police departments.

Graduates of MALEEDS are invited to join the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA), which provides year-round leadership training and hosts an annual national training conference.
