Derbyshire’s Furniture is celebrating their 70th anniversary and is inviting everyone to join them in the fun! To show their gratitude and mark this momentous occasion, they will be hosting anniversary events from August 10 through August 18.  Derbyshire’s Furniture was opened by Walter Derbyshire in 1949 in the same location on Rt. 23 that it stands today. For seventy years Walter’s family ran this Wayne landmark, starting exclusively with unfinished furniture and kitchen cabinets that were built on site.  Later they started bringing in solid wood furniture from other manufacturers and, in the mid 1980s, adding custom finishing services.  Derbyshire’s is now run by Walter’s grandson, Bob, and his wife and business partner, Mary.  

 Derbyshire’s showroom features two floors packed with very affordable, high-quality solid wood furniture in an incredible array of styles including modern, mid-century, industrial/reclaimed, traditional, mission, shaker and more. Almost every item is available in any finish you like or unfinished for DIYers and many pieces can be made in custom sizes for those hard-to-fit spaces. Derbyshire’s staining and painting services are very popular with today’s busy families and customers love having so many color and finish options available to fit their personal styles.
