Started in 1991, Millene Michele and Mary Ellen Volz taught classes out of the Flanders Knights of Columbus. Now in their 6,000 square foot state of the art facility, they celebrate 30 years.
“Our staff is our family, our clients are our pride and joy. We created a place where dancers can train to be well rounded performers in a positive and welcoming environment,” the duo shared.
In the business of training dancers, Michele and Volz have inspired decades of dancers who have truly found a home at Theater Dance Center. For both Michele and Volz, they have always wanted their dancers to feel accepted and loved, no matter how long they’ve been a student at TDC.
“We are a safe and healthy place to dance, where friends become family and dance becomes your passion,” the duo say.
The studio offers dance training beginning at age 2 ½. With classes available in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, and hip hop, there is something for everyone. Adults can even take classes with the adult stretch and tone class.
“Our experienced and caring staff have been part of the Mount Olive community for 30 years,” the duo shared.
Of course, the studio also offers competitive and pre-professional programs for those dancers that may want to continue dance well beyond their teen years.
