Accentuate with LoVe: A Lifelong Dream Come True

By: Megan Roche

If you are driving down Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pequannock and you come across a teal green house with a beautiful front porch, take some time to pop in. For owner, Terriann LoVerde, this little piece of paradise is a lifelong dream come true.

I am 15 year breast cancer survivor and am beyond blessed in so many ways. While going through treatment I was encouraged to take my knowledge of textiles and fashion and start to apply it to home interiors. I went to Berkeley College in NYC and was a fashion merchandising & management major.  Now that my kids are old enough, I knew it was time for me to act on the dream of my own shop.” LoVerde said.

Accentuate with LoVe (uniquely named for LoVerde’s last name) is a newly opened shop that prides itself on unique home décor, gifts, candles, baby shower and wedding gifts, hostess gifts and more.

“Accentuate with LoVe was named by my daughter as our last name is LoVerde and we should do all things with LoVe- give a gift with LoVe, design your home with LoVe, and bring people together with LoVe.” LoVerde shared.

The store is also home to different events, located on The Porch. LoVerde’s goal of the porch events was to bring the community together and showcase different local artists, all with the goal of spreading happiness and joy.

We believe family is everything. This is why we decided to host porch events and invite new people into our “family” by building a sense of community. Keep your eye on our calendar (www.accentuatewithlove.com) for some fun activities as we try and support local businesses and host some memorable moments on our porch. From craft making to story time and even some live music, we hope you all join in.” LoVerde shares on her website.

The LoVerde’s truly do believe that family is everything. Terriann and her husband, Joe, who met at the age of 12, have three children. Alyssa helps run the store with her mom, while Vincent and Victoria are currently finishing up their college careers.

“I have always enjoyed meeting new people and somehow trying to make a difference in their lives. I found that I can make that difference through design. My oldest daughter, Alyssa, runs the shop with me and I could be happier. Her support as manager is beyond necessary for the success of our shop from social media to helping me scour the market for unique merchandise. Our son, Vincent and daughter, Victoria are finishing up their college careers and take part in the shop whenever they can.” LoVerde shares.

Love is evident throughout the store, something that LoVerde is very proud of. The warm and inviting atmosphere, the merchandise for sale, everything speaks love.

“We are so happy we took this leap of faith as the local communities have really welcomed us with open arms. It is such a wonderful feeling to be embraced by the other local retailers as well. We hope to brighten the day of all who walk through our doors.” LoVerde said.
