The Woodland Park American Legion Auxiliary Unit #238 has announced the winners for the 2020 Americanism essay contest. Due to the pandemic, there was not an in-person awards ceremony this year. The following students are the winners at the unit level:

Third grade: Anthony Matthewson. Honorable mentions: Ayah Madani and Sebastian Gomez

Fourth grade: Lena Preziosi. Honorable mention: Fouad Sada

Fifth grade: Sofia Perillo. Honorable mention: Hailey Diaz

Sixth grade: no winner. Honorable mention: Gianna Ricci

Seventh grade: Harry Cusack. Honorable mention: Robert Papienuk

Eighth grade: no winner

Winning essays advanced to compete with others from throughout Passaic County. Passaic County winners: 

Grades 3 and 4: Lena Preziosi

Grades 5 and 5: Sofia Perillo

Grades 7 and 7: Harry Cusack

All county winners have moved on for consideration on the NJ State Level.​
