The Women’s Club of Caldwell is sponsoring a Student Poetry Contest in conjunction with the Caldwell Library’s 100th Anniversary. Students in third through twelfth grades are invited to participate in the contest. The theme of the contest is “Library” which may include books, reading, research, or specific information about the Caldwell Library. Poems may be any style with a minimum length of eight lines and a maximum length of 30 lines. Student poems will be grouped for judging in three categories: Third through fifth grades; sixth through eighth grades; and ninth through twelfth grades.
All entries must be submitted by Fri., April 7 to the Caldwell Library. A flier with detailed contest rules and submission information can be found at the Caldwell Library and the Women’s Club of Caldwell website, www.womensclubofcaldwell.org.
Poems will be judged on content, organization and form. All poems submitted will be judged by members of the Women’s Club of Caldwell. Finalists and runners up will be invited to read their poem at a reception at the Caldwell Library on April 26. Ribbons will be given to First-, second-, and third-place winners in each category.
